[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]IFALPES Annecy has been welcoming school groups throughout the year for more than 20 years.
Over the last few years we have welcomed several groups, from all corners of the globe: Singapore, South Africa, the United States, Ecuador… And closer to home: Switzerland, Norway, Germany and Italy.
Students are placed, generally in pairs, on a full-board basis in carefully-selected host families, all of whom have provided an ‘extrait de casier judiciaire’ (clean police record). Residential accommodation can also be provided, subject to availability.
The students, aged from 11 to 18, have French lessons each morning in closed groups where they have fun activities helping them to improve their speaking and listening skills whilst gaining confidence with the French language.
The school groups then follow a tailor-made programme of activities and excursions in the afternoons, enabling them to discover the numerous possibilities that Annecy and the region have to offer. Activities may include a guided tour of Annecy, cooking lessons, tasting of local products, Photomania, Museum of the Palais de l’ile, cycling around the lake, mountain hikes in summer, bowling, ice-skating… Excursion destinations include Lyon, Chambéry, Geneva and its famous museums, local castles and monuments, including the Chateau de Menthon St Bernard from where Walt Disney got his inspiration.
In summer we offer mountain hike; in Winter we have the possibility of proposing winter sports.

Highly recommended! I spent two months and now I can speak basic conversational french. Instructors really care about students learning to speak french. And they have a lot of extracurricular activities around Annecy. I am going back again this year!
