Terms and conditions


Minimum Age

The course at IFALPES is for adults. Students must be 18 or over to enrol individually.
Younger students (from 14 years old) are welcome if they are part of an organised group chaperoned by adults.

Complete beginners

Complete beginners must start at the beginning of our sessions and can only attend the intensive programme of 20 lessons per week.. If there are fewer than 6 students enrolled, IFALPES reserves the right to either cancel the course or reduce the number of classroom hours.



Your registration will not be confirmed unless you have paid the deposit(s).

For the course

190€ deposit is required
You will pay a course registration fee of 40€. This fee will be deducted from the deposit and the rest (150€) will be deducted from your total course fee.

Within 48 hours of your registration (not including the weekend) you will receive an acceptance letter along with other useful documents for your trip.
Payment by bank transfer is possible; please note that the bank charges are at your own cost.
If you would like to pay by cheque, then it must be in Euros payable in France to IFALPES. IFALPES would recommend the secure credit card payment for the deposit.

The balance of the course must be paid within the first week of your course.

For the accommodation

You will need to pay a deposit of 200€ in order to reserve your accommodation.
The agency fees will be taken off directly from this deposit, and the rest (160€ or 130€) will be deducted from your 1st month’s rent.

The agency fees are calculated as follows: If you stay for one month or less: 40€ per student. For more than one month: 70€ per student.

The balance of the accommodation must be paid within the first week of your course. If you are staying for more than one month, you can pay your rent at the start of each month. If you change your accommodation for any reason once you have arrived, you will be asked to pay 40€ changing fees.



For the course

The deposit for the course will not be reimbursed if you cancel your trip, unless you have subscribed the 65€ cancellation insurance.
Once your course has started, your tuition fees will not be reimbursed under any circumstances.

For the accommodation

If you cancel your accommodation, the deposit will not be reimbursed unless you have subscribed the cancellation insurance.




A cancellation insurance is available for an extra 65€.

For students who do not need a visa: if for any reason you wish to cancel up to the day before the course is due to start, you will be reimbursed the whole of your course and accommodation deposit. If you cancel your course after the programmed start date, there will be no refund.

FOR STUDENTS WHO WILL NEED TO APPLY FOR A VISA, THE CANCELLATION INSURANCE IS COMPULSORY. Your deposits may only be reimbursed if your visa is refused by the embassy and you will need to send us proof of this before we send you the refund. In order to get a refund, these documents must be sent to IFALPES BEFORE THE START OF YOUR COURSE.
If you do not take the cancellation insurance, the deposits will not be reimbursed under any circumstances.



For the course

You can postpone your course without any extra costs in the following cases:
You let us know at least one month before the start of the course
You are victim of an unforeseen circumstance that makes it impossible for you to travel at that time

The new dates of your course must be within one year of the modification. After this time, your deposit will no longer be valid. Only 1 change per student will be accepted.

For the accommodation

If you decide to postpone your accommodation, the accommodation service will decide how much of the deposit is kept depending on the amount of notice they are given.



On bank holidays the institutes will be closed. You will not be able to make up, nor be reimbursed missed classes.



It is the sole responsibility of each student to organise their own insurance covering their travel, health, loss or theft of personal belongings, accidents and civil liability.
